HILLZ began long before fashion. 

As a child, Tim van den Heuvel spent countless hours between excavators, bulldozers and heavy
machinery at his family’s infrastructure company. Surrounded by steel, weight and construction, he
developed a fascination for brute force, engineering and the limits of physical form.
Long before he created garments, Tim was building sculptures. Welding together discarded
machine parts, steel fragments and industrial materials, he explored tension, balance and
transformation.
This fascination was inherited. The story begins with Tim’s great-grandfather, who recovered an
abandoned German military tank after the fighting around Overloon and transformed it into a
machine for local farmers. What started as ingenuity and reconstruction eventually grew into an
international infrastructure company spanning generations.
For Tim, this story became more than family history. It became a blueprint: seeing potential where
others see waste, rebuilding, transforming and creating something larger than oneself.
The same drive that transformed a war machine into a tool for creation now fuels the vision behind
HILLZ.
Years later, Tim’s exploration shifted from steel sculpture to the human body. At the same time,
another fascination emerged: hierarchy. Growing up within a family where different generations
occupied distinctly different positions in society, he became aware of the invisible structures that
shape everyday life.
This became the conceptual foundation of HILLZ.
Through fashion, sculpture and textile design, HILLZ explores the tension between labour and
luxury, industrial power and emotional tenderness, utility and self-expression. Traditional workwear
is transformed through reconstruction, textile art and upcycling into sculptural garments and
wearable artworks.
At the heart of HILLZ lies the belief that contradiction creates beauty.
Strength and vulnerability. Masculinity and femininity. Industry and emotion. Function and fantasy.
Construction 01 represents the first chapter of this exploration. Industrial references merge with
flowing silk artworks, creating wearable sculptures that exist between opposing worlds. The
detachable silk scarves connect to the signature HILLZ necklace, introducing a modular system
designed to evolve over time.
More than an accessory, it marks the beginning of a HILLZ language. Future collections will expand
this system through new artworks, materials and wearable fragments that can be collected,
connected and combined.
HILLZ moves freely between worlds: from construction sites to red carpets, from industrial
landscapes to museum collections, from functional garments to avant-garde sculpture.
Because true luxury is not defined by status. It is defined by transformation.
