CONSTRUCTION 01 – TROMPE L’œil

Trompe L’œil explores the tension between opposing worlds. Weaved into flowing chiffon silk, the artwork combines visual references from industrial workwear with delicate elements of lingerie. A powerfull overall, traditionally associated with labour, protection and strength, is layered with lace details, straps and suspender- like construction that introducé softness, intimacy and vulnerability.

The print creates a visual illusion in wich these contrasting identities coexist. Strength and delicacy. Utility and desire. Structure and exposure.

Connected to the sculptural CONSTRUCTION 01 chain system, the piece balances two opposing forces. The softness of movement against the permanence of structure.

The accessory itself is partly produced out of upcycled fibers, and the chain part is seamless build up layer for layer giving the illusion of an endless chain without any seam. Creating this from upcycled workwear given an new purpose, evolving into a lightweight yet powerfull statement piece.

Allthough the chain appears massive and almost architectural in scale, its lightweight Construction makes it comfortable to wear. This contradiction forms the heart of the design: A structure that visually represents weight, protection en permanence, while physically remaining effortless and light. A functional illusion that strenghtens the poetic dialogue between strength and vulnerability.

Worn around the neck, the scarf becomes a protective gesture wrapped around a powerfull industrial structure. A reminder that vulnerability is not the opposite of strength, but one of its purest forms.

• Material description: PA12 Nylon is a strong and versatile engineering-grade polymer produced using SLS 3D printing technology. The material combines high mechanical strength with a lightweight construction and a clean, professional finish. PA12 is highly durable, impact-resistant and suitable for everyday use. Its slight flexibility helps prevent cracking and makes it more resilient than many other Nylon. The material is widely used in industrial products, medical applications and consumer goods.

Following the laser printing process, the chain undergoes a tumbling treatment to achieve a smoother texture and a refined finish. The result is a lightweight statement piece with enhanced wearing comfort and a soft feel against the skin.

• Care Instructions: Silk Scarf:  Iron on low temperature without steam, Dry clean .

To preserve the Beauty and fluidity of the delicate chiffon silk, hand wash in lukewarm water only. After cleansing, wrap the chiffon silk section in a soft towel and gently press to absorb excess water. Avoid twisting or wringing. Lay flat or hang to dry. When nearly dry, delicatly iron on a low setting to maintain a flawless finish.
